Textile Tales is a participatory art project developed by Joana Rossi. With Textile Tales “Haren” (Brussels) Joana invited the residents of Haren to reflect on their environment and how they experience it. Together we drew inspiration from stories from the past and the present to create a personal image in textiles about the Haren of tomorrow. In traveling encounter sessions we created narrative layers on the existing cartography. This textile mapping made some impressions visible and invited us to look to the future. Inspired by Latin American textile art, everyone created an image of what a future could look like, which we can continue to weave together.
